Celtic Cars’ Social Media Uprising

How Social Media Benefits Independent Car Dealers

We’re sure you’ve noticed that our creative office team (well Phoebe…with a bit of assistance from Steph and Kev) have really ramped up our social media presence the last couple of months.

Some folk have questioned the motives, so we thought we would delve a little deeper and give everyone an insight into the world of social media and the independent car dealer.

In an increasingly competitive automotive market, we (the independent car dealer) face unique challenges that require innovative approaches to stay ahead. We may be a little late to the table but social media platforms have emerged as powerful tools for us, helping us reach a wider audience, build relationships, and boost sales.

In this blog, we’ll explore how social media assists independent car dealers and enables them to thrive in a competitive industry.

Increased Visibility and Reach:

Social media platforms act as virtual showrooms, allowing independent car dealers to showcase their inventory and attract potential buyers without the need for a physical location. Through regular posts, high-quality images, and engaging videos, dealers can create a strong online presence, increasing their visibility and gaining wider reach. This exposure is vital for attracting buyers who might not have otherwise known about their dealership.

Cost-Effective Marketing:

Traditional marketing channels, such as print media and radio, can be costly for independent dealerships, eating into their tight budgets. Social media provides a cost-effective alternative, offering targeted advertising options and the ability to reach a specific demographic. By creating engaging content, utilising paid ads, and leveraging advanced targeting tools, independent dealers can maximise their marketing ROI and drive traffic to their online platforms or physical showrooms.

Building Trust and Authenticity:

Building trust is crucial for any car dealer, and social media platforms provide an ideal medium for establishing authenticity, credibility, and trustworthiness. Through regular posts, testimonials, and customer reviews, dealers can showcase their expertise, customer satisfaction, and the quality of their cars. Engaging with customers by promptly addressing inquiries and providing transparent information helps create a positive brand image, enhancing trust between the independent dealer and potential buyers.

Relationship Building and Customer Engagement:

Social media platforms facilitate direct and personal interactions between independent car dealers and their customers. Dealers can actively engage with their audience by liking, commenting, and sharing relevant content. By creating a community around their brand and industry, dealers can foster long-term relationships with customers. Regularly providing valuable content such as car maintenance tips, industry news, and exclusive offers helps keep customers engaged and encourages loyalty.

Online Sales and Lead Generation:

Now we aren’t quote at this stage yet however with the advancement of e-commerce, social media platforms enable independent dealers to sell cars directly through their online channels. By integrating a strong call-to-action and utilising lead generation tools, dealers can capture potential buyers’ information and follow up with personalised offers. Social media platforms also provide a convenient opportunity to highlight special promotions and exclusive deals, attracting potential customers and driving sales.

Competitive Analysis and Market Insights:

Social media platforms allow independent car dealers to gain valuable insights on their competitors’ strategies, customer preferences, and industry trends. By monitoring competitors’ social media pages, dealers can understand their strengths and weaknesses and adjust their own strategies accordingly. Additionally, engaging with customers through surveys and feedback helps dealers gain insights into customer preferences, allowing them to stock the right inventory and make data-driven business decisions

By utilising social media platforms for increased visibility, cost-effective marketing, building trust and authenticity, customer engagement, online sales, lead generation, and gaining market insights, independent dealerships can thrive in a competitive automotive landscape.

Embracing social media as an essential part of their business strategy is essential for independent car dealerships to succeed and grow in today’s digital age. Social media is revolutionising how we at Celtic Cars operate, giving us a a real personality that you can trust (we hope) and helping us reach wider audiences that we may not have otherwise reached.

As you’re probably aware we’ve been on the hunt for a full time technician to join our team for some time now.

Whilst we haven’t found our match yet we have been exploring avenues to free up our technicians so they can concentrate on Servicing, Repairs and Diagnostics and we’ve conjured up a position that may be able to tempt someone to join us.

Are you an MOT tester that has had enough of undertaking the repair/servicing work?  Maybe looking to retire from the trade but still fancy a few part time hours?

You could be our first exclusive MOT TESTER.

This position could be as flexible or as rigid as you like…. morning work every day or just certain full days. We would plan our diary around you. (our other technicians are all MOT testers so they can always hop on should you not be able to work certain days)

Salary to be discussed – but we are willing to pay good money for this position and are open to discussion about this.

And don’t worry if we do find our next permanent member of staff in the meantime, we have more than enough work to accommodate both new members so this position will not be in jeopardy….unless the government pulled MOT Tests that is

WINTER DRIVING – are you prepared?

Winter driving can be a challenging and sometimes treacherous task, especially when faced with snow-covered roads, icy patches, and limited visibility. It is crucial to prioritise safety and make the necessary preparations to handle the cold weather and difficult driving conditions.

Here in North. Wales we’re not that often blessed with these conditions for long periods of times but after Archie & his Daddy’s drive out today we thought best outline some essential tips to help you stay safe while navigating winter roads.

Tempimageh6sz1m - Celtic Cars Ltd

Prepare your Vehicle

Ensure your vehicle is in good condition: Check your levels (oil, screen wash, coolant, brake fluid, PAS) Check your battery, tyres, brakes, headlights, and windshield wipers..

If you’re not confident in checking the above please give us a call on 01745 854462 and arrange to pop in so we can check them for you.

Consider equipping your car with winter tyres for better traction

Keep your fuel tank at least half-full: This helps prevent fuel lines from freezing and provides extra weight for better stability.

Plan Ahead

Monitor weather forecasts: Stay updated on weather conditions and potential storms to plan your trips accordingly.

Allow extra time for travel: Winter roads can be slower and more hazardous, so give yourself ample time to reach your destination.

For our local readers avoid roads like Gwaenysgor etc

Drive Defensively

Reduce speed: Slowing down is crucial during winter conditions, as it allows you more time to react to potential hazards.

Increase following distance: The standard three to four-second rule for following distance should be increased to at least eight to ten seconds in icy or snowy conditions.

Be gentle with the brakes and accelerator: Applying brakes abruptly may cause skidding, while rapid acceleration can cause tires to spin on icy or slippery patches.

Use lower gears: When driving on slippery roads, use lower gears to maintain better control of your vehicle.

Maintain Clear Visibility

Clear off snow and ice: Remove all snow from your car (including the roof) to avoid obstructing your view or endangering other drivers.

Ensure wipers and defrosters are functional: Clean your windscreen thoroughly, and keep the wiper fluid reservoir filled.

Keep your headlights on: Even during daylight hours, turning on your headlights improves your visibility to other drivers.

Be Cautious with Bridges and Overpasses

Be aware that these areas may freeze first, as they are exposed to cold air from above and below.
Approach bridges and overpasses with reduced speed and avoid sudden manoeuvres.

Stay Alert and Focused

Avoid distractions: As always do not use your phone or engage in any activities that divert your attention from the road.

Watch out for black ice: Be mindful of shaded areas, ramps, and bridges, as black ice can be difficult to spot and causes increased risk of skidding.
Stay well-rested: Fatigue affects reaction times, so ensure you are adequately rested before heading out on a winter drive.

Winter driving requires extra caution, preparation, and attentiveness. Adhering to the aforementioned tips can significantly increase your safety while traveling on winter roads. Remember, a little extra effort and care can go a long way in ensuring a smooth and secure journey for you and other drivers on the road.

If we can offer any advice at all just give us a call anytime or pop in and see us – the kettle is always on.

Stay safe!
